Although Ryanair is a big household name, it is also notorious for its barebones products. Over the years, the low-cost airline has earned the title of one of the worst airlines in Europe.

I set an alarm 24 hours before my flight so I didn’t miss the online check-in window. According to Ryanair, passengers who do not check in within two hours of their scheduled departure time will be charged £55/€55 per passenger at the airport ticket counter.

These are just a few of the few rules I have to remember before heading to the airport.
I also had to make sure to allow enough time before the flight to get through all the chaos. The app told me to go through security before 6:55am

When I checked in, I couldn’t get my boarding pass on the mobile app since I’m a US citizen. Instead, I was asked to print a page and present it at the airport for “visa check”.

Other budget airlines like EasyJet and Wizz Air don’t, and neither do many mainline airlines like Air Canada.
