Another executive announced his departure from cloud computing company VMware. It is the latest example of an exodus of employees following chip giant Broadcom’s planned $61 billion takeover of the company.
Karen Egan, a 15-year VMware veteran and senior vice president of global support, announced Thursday that she is leaving the cloud computing company, according to a leaked email seen by Insider. Egan is leaving to serve as chief customer officer at an undisclosed company.
“It is important to reiterate that global support is on the right track,” she wrote. “This will not change with my departure,” Egan wrote.
Egan is the latest high-profile departure since VP of Global and Partner Sales Sandy Hogan left in June. Shekar Ganapathy, VP of Sales and Support, will succeed Egan during the search for a replacement, the email said. Senior Director of Support Mark Fitzgerald will take on additional tasks to support Ganapathy.
As Senior Vice President of Global Support, Egan oversees key customer accounts and provides support upgrades for all VMware customers. Egan has worked at VMware for more than 15 years, where she was a customer support manager for the mobile phone company Motorola. Her last day will be September 30th.
