
Crans-Montana, Switzerland (AP) — Triston Lawrence played four holes in a weather-damaged second round early Saturday, after three rounds of the European Masters. , he finished with a 3-shot lead.
Lawrence returned to the course at 7:40 a.m. at Clyssur-Shell Golf Club and birdied the par-4 18th for a 14-under 64, behind leader Alex One shot by Jandro Canizares.
Shot 67 in the afternoon, caught five birdies and two bogeys, South Africa’s Lawrence shot 193, 17 under par, while Canizares shot 73 to fall off the leaderboard.
Lawrence was led by a trio of Matt Wallace, who shot a 68 after a streak of 64s that included birdies on the 17th and 18th holes. That put the Briton at 14-under on another day when the air was thin on the scenic Swiss Alps course.
Scott Jamison and Richard Mansell both shot 13-under 66s and tied for third.
Canizares dropped to 12 under with Masahiro Kawamura and Adri Arnaus for a five-shot lead.
Danny Willett, who won the title in 2015, shot a 9-under 64 and eight shots behind the lead nine months before Augusta won the Masters.
Defending champion Rasmus Hoygard shot 1-under 76 to miss the cut by one stroke.
