Elon Musk’s mother, Maye Musk, had some unusual sleeping arrangements when visiting her son.
74-year-old supermodel told British Times She wasn’t sleeping in a proper bedroom when she visited the SpaceX CEO in Boca Chica, where the company’s Texas headquarters and Starbase launch site are located.
“I had to sleep in the garage,” she told the outlet. “You can’t have a fancy house near a rocket launch site.”
Elon said he has no “primary residence,” although he lives in a “very small” $45,000 home in Boca Chica.
“My friends came and they couldn’t believe I was going to live in this house,” he said on The Full Send podcast earlier this month.
Before he remodeled the garage, the 800- to 900-square-foot home “was technically a three-bedroom, but it used to be a two-bedroom,” he said.
The billionaire also owns a $50,000, 375-square-foot prefab tiny home for guests.
Elon had said in 2020 that he “will sell almost all tangible property” and “will not own any house.”
Asked if Elon was interested in material possessions in an interview with The Times, Mayer said: “No, not in that sense at all.”
