While foldable phones may seem like relics of a bygone era, sales report show Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 3 brought them back into the mainstream to a large extent.after launch Z flip 4, you’ve probably already found a good deal on last year’s model—if you’ve bought one of these sleek Samsung foldables, you’ll want to make sure your device is safe from drops, scratches, and bumps. Be sure to buy a high-quality Z Flip 3 case made just for its unique design. We’ve selected some of the best options on the market to help you pick out a premium Z Flip 3 case that offers serious protection.

unlike Best cases for Apple iPhone 13 Even Galaxy S22, there are relatively few companies making cases for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, thanks to its newer version and unique design, so there are fewer options to choose from. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. With competition as fierce as ever, and discerning customers weeding out excess, our selection from the available cases focuses on function, grip and uncompromising style. I’ll update this list as I try more cases (yes, I’ve tried all the cases on this list) to help you find your dream Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 case.

Will the Galaxy Z Flip 3 case protect the entire phone, including the hinge?

Most Galaxy Z Flip 3 cases come in two pieces, and not many cases cover the hinges or provide some hinge protection. In my conversations with case makers, designing a case that offers full hinge protection is a design challenge. But if that’s what you’re looking for, some of these picks will protect the hinge.

Does the Galaxy Z Flip 3 have a screen protector?

No, Samsung doesn’t sell — or allow anyone to sell — a screen protector for the front home screen of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. The Z Flip 3 uses a high-tech bendable display, and I think it could get some damage if you put something on it. However, you can find some screen protectors for mini external monitors.

Do all phone cases allow wireless charging?

Most but not all cases on this list allow you to wirelessly charge your Z Flip 3 with the case open. Those with an integrated kickstand, especially if it’s made of metal, may require you to remove the case to charge your phone wirelessly. What a shame — for the Z Flip 3, I like the case with the integrated kickstand.

Available in three colors, Spigen’s Thin Fit features a two-piece design that’s soft to the touch. This is a simple, lightweight case that will look good on your phone. No hinge protection.

Speck only makes a case for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, and it’s a good one. The Presidio Perfect-Clear Fold offers 13-foot drop protection, and it’s the most protective clear case I’ve tried, albeit without hinge protection. Grab this flip cap and give it a try.

I love Samsung’s silicone case with loops. It’s protective, soft to the touch, and has a built-in loop to help keep your phone from falling – you can also clip the loop to a lanyard and wear the phone around your neck. Alas, while I can use the ring on some surfaces to support the phone, I’d prefer this case if it converts to a stand.

The case comes in a variety of colors.

Gear4’s Bridgetown case shares some similarities with Spigen’s Tough Armor case (see below). It’s also a solid case that’s only available in black and has some nice hinge protection. One of the best cases for Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. I just wish it had more colors or a transparent version.

Otterbox made just two cases for the Galaxy Z Flip 3: the Thin Flex and this Symmetry Flex. Alas, the Thin Flex line feels cheap, and it’s hard to get away from your phone once you open it. However, the sturdy and more attractive Symmetry Flex serves as the Z Flip 3’s top case. It’s a translucent case with a black bezel around it to show off your phone a little while offering good drop protection. I just wish it had more colors.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G leather case is the equivalent of Apple’s iPhone case. It’s expensive, but it’s good — and slim. While it doesn’t offer as much protection as some of the cases on this list, it’s one of my favorites and makes your phone easy to spot if you get it in a bright color like mustard. It is also available in green and black. The biggest blow is that it’s expensive, but Samsung has discounted it to $40.

It has the same soft-touch feel as Samsung’s Ring case, but instead of a ring, it’s a strap. You slide your hand under the strap (behind the phone) so you can grab and hold the phone without actually wrapping your fingers around the phone. It’s essentially a seat belt. The strap also provides a little protection for the hinges when the phone is folded. Additionally, you can attach the end of the strap to a lanyard or clip it to another strap (for example, on a bag or backpack).

Aside from having some utility, the strap also seems designed to bring some attention to your phone. For better or worse, it does just that, so if you use this case, plan to have people ask about your phone. It comes in several colors.

Spigen made some cases for the Galaxy Z Flip 3. As the name suggests, the Tough Armor is durable and offers the greatest protection in Spigen’s product line. It’s also the only Spigen case that integrates a protective cover for the hinge.

As far as a case goes, it’s one of the best, it just lacks an integrated kickstand. I also kind of wish it had more color. Black is currently the only option.

Part of the Spigen Air Skin range of cases, the Crystal Clear version is a slim clear case that provides essential protection. There’s some adhesive to make sure the case doesn’t slip off the phone (as you can see from the photo, I didn’t pull down the small tab to expose it). When you’re wearing it, it’s hard not to get a dust particle or two trapped under the case — those that show up if you have an all-black phone like mine.

Aramid fiber is Kevlar in nature, so this case is durable and slim. It feels soft and easy to grip. A lot of people like this case, even though it looks simple and expensive. It adds very little weight (and size) to the Z Flip 3 and looks protective.

This isn’t a phone case per se, but if you’re looking for some extra protection for the Z Flip 3’s external display, Spigen sells a two-pack of external screen protectors. It fits around the lens and the rear display, and works fine in most situations, though it pairs best with the Spigen case. (Not all Z Flip 3 chassis have the same cutout around the display on the back.)

Zagg brings its line of InvisibleShield screen protectors to the Z Flip 3’s exterior screen. This may be the smallest screen protector Zagg has ever made. Yet somehow it costs as much as the screen protectors it makes for larger screens.

If you’re looking for an affordable case with an integrated ring that converts to a stand, this Vego is a solid choice, even though it looks more premium than it actually is. It is also sold under other brand names on Amazon. I can’t tell you how it will hold up over time, but it has some nice features, including a cover that slides up to protect the phone’s camera, and it sticks to the magnetic car mount. One big downside is that it doesn’t support wireless charging.
